The brass band in full swing … the car park packed … the reindeer not used to so much attention (usually flying in the expanse of the night sky) … the weather very kind, smiling upon us; Ho Ho Ho ! This was the Rush Farm Christmas Fayre 2013!!
We had a diverse range of people come and visit our organic, biodynamic farm – including a surprising amount of children and young people, each welcomed personally by our reindeer, as well as our local MP Karen Lumley, who invested a few months ago, along with her husband – a delightful surprise! All in all we believe we had a whopping 1,200 visitors on Sunday!! This is an incredible achievement and we want to thank all that attended from the bottom of our hearts.
We had a number of stalls boasting local, handmade produce Silver Republic Jewellery, Lottie and Friends, Fusion Brasserie, DQ Cupcakes, Home at Heart and Willows Hedgehog Rescue, many just down the road from us. All stallholders were very pleased with the day.
Some 250 people in total attended out trailer rides around the park and our very own Sebastian Parsons of course enjoyed his day MCing the entire event.
As the winter cold crept in towards the end of the day, we still had well over a hundred people join in with our last event with the wonderful Brendan on the bagpipes:
The day was a brilliant opportunity to open up many discussions with current members of our Community Benefit Society as well as speak to those considering investing their own valuable time and money into this cause we are so passionate about. We intend to hold these sorts of events as much as possible; to really make our Community Benefit Society exactly t hat – a Community that knows itself and is engaged. Read our vision for the Stockwood Estate to know more.
Thank you to all that attended and special thanks to Caroline Leah, Alison King and our own Tabitha supported by Chris and other family members, as well as the members of our farm team.
