Working within the Higher Level Stewardship scheme for the protection and conservation of endangered wildlife, we are incredibly excited that a few days ago first sightings were made of Brown Hairstreak Butterfly eggs in our woodland. This butterfly is classified as a BAP high priority species for conservation efforts.

The search team also saw an example of the clouded yellow which excited them almost as much! They will be back again not just to look for more eggs of this species but also because they want to explore the wood.

You can find more information about our dedication to endangered wildlife on our Rush Farm Page and you can find out more about the Brown Hairstreak Butterfly at a dedicated blog page Ash Brownies.
